Glucosamine Hydrochloride (HCl)
Most Joint supplements for horses contain the cheaper Glucosamine Sulphate, with EquineFlex we only use the highest quality Glucosamine Hydrochloride. Glucosamine is the most studied ingredient when it comes to joint care and studies suggest results work better when combined with Chondroitin. Glucosamine (HCL) is an amino sugar used as a building block to form tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and synovial fluid and works on a cellular level to target the origin and actual cause of the problem. It gives cartilage its strength, structure and shock absorbing qualities.
Boswellia
Boswellia is a herbal supplement derived from the gum resin of the boswellia serrata tree. It’s also known as frankincense, and it’s been used for centuries to treat arthritis and inflammation. Boswellia can help with osteoarthritis and chronic joint pain. Boswellia can help reduce inflammation — it has anti-inflammatory properties like aspirin does in people.
Curcuma Lunga
Curcuma Lunga reduces inflammation and pain by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzyme 2 (COX-2), while maintaining COX-1 enzymatic function. That’s good news, because the COX-1 enzyme protects your horse’s stomach lining. COX-2 inhibition is a far better route to take for pain control than the more commonly used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as phenylbutazone (bute), flunixin meglumin (Banamine), MSM or aspirin; these inhibit COX-2 enzymes and COX-1 enzymes
Chondroitin Sulphate
It supports equine joint health and comfort. As a joint supplement for horses, Chondroitin supports the natural regeneration of cartilage, supporting joint comfort, strength and mobility; and helping to
relieve the symptoms of conditions such as arthritis. It’s good for older horses: it can help to alleviate the symptoms of conditions such as arthritis, helping senior horses to stay comfortable. It is often used to support mobility in older equines. It works well in conjunction with Glucosamine, another natural horse supplement which is great for equine joint health. Chondroitin for horses is safe for consistent long term use, with no reported side effects.
Linseed
Linseed is a good source of Omega 3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties, which could help combat inflammatory conditions like arthritis. Provides the ideal balance of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, to promote skin and coat health. Linseed can help boost immunity and regulate hormones within the body, making it beneficial for veterans or horses with metabolic conditions. Rich in lignans which have anti-oxidant properties and may reduce the activity of cell-damaging free radicals A source of quality protein, with an impressive amino acid profile including lysine – the major ‘essential’ amino acid.
The soluble fibre contains mucilage to help prevent digestive upset and promote gastrointestinal function and integrity. The fibre in linseed helps keep the all-important hindgut microbes happy and healthy.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that plays a role in helping prevent damage to body tissues under threat from free radicals, which are generated as the immune system works to protect the body from bacteria, viruses, and other organisms. Some clinical signs of inflammation and infection
might be due to free radicals. Vitamin C plays a crucial role in helping fight off infection. In an ideal situation, antioxidants such as vitamin C neutralize free radicals before damage to sensitive tissues occurs.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that acts as an important antioxidant for horses. It helps maintain a healthy immune system and supports normal nerve and muscle function.
HA (Hyaluronic Acid)
Having a sufficient amount of hyaluronic acid improves the amount and viscosity of synovial fluid available to your horse. This provides lubrication to reduce friction in your horse’s joints. Less friction means less wear and tear on cartilage, so your horse can keep performing at max capacity without fear of getting arthritis or another degenerative joint condition. The long and short of it is that hyaluronic acid helps maintain your horse’s health by Lubricating joints, Reducing pain and inflammation and Providing powerful antioxidants. Hyaluronic acid is an incredibly important compound found in synovial fluid. This substance retains water to help keep your horse’s joints lubricated, creating a thin coating on the joint capsule.
Copper Chelate
Copper sulphate has been shown to improve the condition of the skin on horses. It can soothe itchy and irritated skin, reduce inflammation, and prevent bacterial infections.
Black Pepper
Black pepper has been shown to improve health due to their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and disease-fighting qualities. Its most significant benefit is its ability to boost the absorption of curcuma lunga.

Reviews
A friend recommended this supplement, I gave it a good read and it seemed absolutely worth a try.
Honestly it has given me my horse back. He’s 20 years old; arthritic, navicular issues and even tore his suspensory. He used to be an established eventer/hunter. A week after this supplement he was out jumping around the derby classes giving me a super canter really using himself. Can’t rate it enough!
high measurements same as more expensive brand names
As a sponsored rider for Equine flex I strongly recommend purchasing a tub! This has helped improve my horses performance and suppleness massively. 💙🤍
After doing some research into the % of ingredients in Equine Flex vs other brands, I decided to take the plunge and switch. It is cheaper than other brands but with higher % Nd the results I am seeing are fantastic! I won’t be switching to anything else and hope to continue seeing my horse march around on our hacks!!
I will be continuing with Equine flex after changing from a brand recommended by vet. I was sceptical at first as to how it would perform in supporting older horse's joints in comparison.
I am impressed and would recommend.
