Glucosamine Hydrochloride (HCl)
Most Joint supplements for horses contain the cheaper Glucosamine Sulphate, with EquineFlex we only use the highest quality Glucosamine Hydrochloride. Glucosamine is the most studied ingredient when it comes to joint care and studies suggest results work better when combined with Chondroitin. Glucosamine (HCL) is an amino sugar used as a building block to form tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and synovial fluid and works on a cellular level to target the origin and actual cause of the problem. It gives cartilage its strength, structure and shock absorbing qualities.

 

Boswellia
Boswellia is a herbal supplement derived from the gum resin of the boswellia serrata tree. It’s also known as frankincense, and it’s been used for centuries to treat arthritis and inflammation. Boswellia can help with osteoarthritis and chronic joint pain. Boswellia can help reduce inflammation — it has anti-inflammatory properties like aspirin does in people.

 

Curcuma Lunga
Curcuma Lunga reduces inflammation and pain by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzyme 2 (COX-2), while maintaining COX-1 enzymatic function. That’s good news, because the COX-1 enzyme protects your horse’s stomach lining. COX-2 inhibition is a far better route to take for pain control than the more commonly used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as phenylbutazone (bute), flunixin meglumin (Banamine), MSM or aspirin; these inhibit COX-2 enzymes and COX-1 enzymes

 

Chondroitin Sulphate
It supports equine joint health and comfort. As a joint supplement for horses, Chondroitin supports the natural regeneration of cartilage, supporting joint comfort, strength and mobility; and helping to
relieve the symptoms of conditions such as arthritis. It’s good for older horses: it can help to alleviate the symptoms of conditions such as arthritis, helping senior horses to stay comfortable. It is often used to support mobility in older equines. It works well in conjunction with Glucosamine, another natural horse supplement which is great for equine joint health. Chondroitin for horses is safe for consistent long term use, with no reported side effects.

 

Linseed
